Road Trippin’ through PA

I haven’t been able to update my “road diary” in a while as I’ve been road trippin’ and camping in some remote parts of northern Pennsylvania (limited wi-fi/cell coverage). I’ve had a fantastic time exploring a number of the state parks along highway 6, which is quite a scenic route. One of the highlights was stumbling upon Cherry Springs, a “dark sky” state park dedicated to astronomy on the day of the Perseid meteor shower. I was so excited to get a good spot to camp and set up my camera to shoot a star trail. The weather could not have been more perfect, skies clear, etc. The next morning I went to grab the card from my camera, only to discover that all the images were black. I had forgotten to take the lens cap off.  What a rookie mistake. So disappointed. It was still a lovely evening…the star filled sky was intense and the occasional shooting star was exciting.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing all the old farm houses and barns in these remote parts of PA.

The old homes in these parts are so full of character..they too have been a great source of enjoyment.
