Road Trip Essentials – A list of cool products for your next road trip
This is a list of road trip essentials that will help you hit the road fully prepared for what life might throw at you. Click the following link if you’re looking for a road trip packing list. I’ve also created some life-saving road trip tips that you may want to look at as well. This road trip essentials list will be updated periodically as I discover new products that I think might be helpful for your road trip journey.
Reliable Communications is one of the most important Road Trip Essentials to Consider
One frustration every road tripper has in common is a weak cell service signal. We are all so reliant on our cell phones for both conversation and internet access. Unfortunately, today’s phones don’t have the strongest antennas. Thankfully, the weBoost Drive Reach by Wilson Electronics has just what you need to significantly boost your cell signal.
I have tested this out on two extensive road trips and performed speed tests to see the difference in areas with a weak signal, the Drive Reach does in fact work. However, it’s not a holy grail device as other factors come in to play to hinder your cell signal, such as mountains or low lying areas. Click here to see my Instagram Stories on the installation and speed tests of the weBoost Drive Reach, or, watch the video below.

Safe Storage is a Road Trip Essential
If you have a truck or SUV with a frame hitch and you’re not towing anything, don’t let the space go unused. One of the coolest road trip products I have been using for a few years now is the HitchSafe. This ingenious product is super simple to install (Note: requires a frame hitch) and provides a highly secure and discreet place to store a few valuables—for example, a spare set of car/house keys, money, credit card, etc.
The solid steel construction and clever installation method makes it virtually impenetrable, and far superior to those old magnet key holders. With the dust cover in place, no one will ever suspect that you have something of value hidden away.

Securing Cargo is a Variety of Ways
Every once in a while a product comes along that makes you go “Gosh, why didn’t I think of that.” The Jeri-Rigg strap system is one of those simple, but innovative products that helps secure loads, hook/hang things and a whole lot more.
If you’re hauling anything that needs to be secured down, like a bike, motorcycle or other gear, the Jeri-Rigg straps are road trip essentials that you must take with you on your next adventure. To really understand how to use these straps, watch the video below.
RETAIL PRICE: $13.95 t0 $39.95 depending on strap and size.
TILE – keep track of everything
Tile makes finding things quick and easy, just attach or place a Tile GPS transmitter to a purse, set of keys, a briefcase, luggage, just about anything that you have a tendency to misplace. For me, I have one in my camera bag, one on my drone, and I keep a couple around for things I might want to track on a trip, like my checked luggage. Check out the video below for more information on all the way you can use TILE, which for me, has become one of those road trip essentials I can’t live without.
Retail Price: $24.99 to $99.99 depending on type of Tile and quantity.

Hydracell – No Batteries No Problem!
The Hydracell PL-750 is a hybrid lantern & charger that requires no batteries, but rather this is a new technology uses two hydrocells that are activated by water & air. A supplemental solar panel is included. This system has a 25-year shelf life, making it a perfect addition to your emergency or road trip essentials list. This unit not only delivers reliable light, but it also has a USB outlet for charging a phone and other light electronics.
Multi-Purpose Tools and Knives
Having a good pocket knife is one of those road trip essentials that everyone should have. I have been a fan of CRKT for years. They have an extensive line of knives for every purpose as well as a few multi-purpose tools that are worth checking out.
