Preserve Those Travel Memories with a Saal Photo Book: The Ultimate in Quality and Customization

Before digital photography, I used to print all of my travel photos and then painstakingly spray-mount them in these high-end art albums. I also created embellishments to compliment the photos, such as the name of the country, name of the destination, the year and maybe even a blurb about that trip. It was my way of keeping track of those cherished travel moments, well before starting my travel blog MikesRoadTrip.com. These travel books are among my most cherished possessions.

After more than 15 years of shooting digitally, and, having a blog to keep track of my travel memories, I have neglected the process of creating physical books to showcase my adventures. That was, until recently, when I decided to take a few dozen of my best photos from around the world and put together a small portfolio. I have traveled to over 50 countries, countless cities and 49 out of the 50 U.S. States, so I have 10s of thousand of photos of my travels. Needless to say, it’s really difficult to narrow down my all-time best photos. It took me a while to select the images I was going to use, but once I did, I downloaded the Saal computer app that aids in the creation of a photo book. You don’t have to use their app, you can do it web-based, but there are more features available if you use their app.

After imputing my photos and placing them where I wanted, I added some text to each page and listed the destination name. It really didn’t take long to figure out how to size the images on each page, or to place the text. As a matter of fact, with this small portfolio photo book under my belt, I think I may start to take the best photos from each of my trips and create a photo book for each adventure in which I have some outstanding photography to showcase. There is nothing quite like flipping through a book with pages filled with your work. It’s fun to seem them displayed much larger than on a screen. You can really see the detail and definition when you print your photos.

I have used several photo curation/printer companies in the past for various projects, but for this portfolio, I wanted something a bit higher end, more professional looking if you will, so I went with Saal Digital. In addition to photo books, Saal also sells large fine art posters, wall art, cards and other photography products. People keep telling me I should sell my photos and perhaps with the professional quality of Saal, I can do just that.

I just placed my order a few days ago and received an email saying I could expect to receive my photo book within 10-12 days, it showed up in less than a week. I was so thrilled with the quality, I thought I had to share the product and experience with my readers. And no, I’m not being paid to write this post, but perhaps after Saal reads this, they will want to give me some credit toward another book. 😉

The reason I went with Saal Digital Photo Books is that they are considered to be among the best in the business. The prices reflect the professional quality, so they may not be for everyone, but they do have other products other than the photo books, which may appeal to you.

I have to say, after flipping through my photo book, the print quality is exceptional, although I do think some of my images are a touch dark, so I will make note of that for future reference. Saal does use state-of-the-art printing technology and high-quality paper to ensure that the photos in the book are sharp and vibrant. The colors are really true to life and I can’t believe how thick and luxurious the pages are (several options to choose from).
