How to save money on airport parking

As a road trip blogger I don’t fly all that much anymore, however in the past month I’ve been on a few flights that required me to park my vehicle at the airport. To actually park at the airport for any duration of time would cost a fortune, therefore many folks like me look for off-site parking options.

Because I don’t fly all that often anymore, I was surprised to find that even the off-site parking companies have gotten a bit pricey, so I did a bit of research and found OneStopParking.com. One Stop Parking has a pretty interesting business model…they have partnered with nearby hotels to use their unused parking spaces. Once you’ve parked, you just hop on the hotel shuttle and they will take you to the airport at no additional cost.

To book your reservation, you just visit the OneStopParking.com website, type in a destination and date, and the booking engine will provide you with a few available options. During my last trip there were two options to choose from…I think I only paid $2.79 per day (plus a small booking fee).

If you consider using One Stop Parking, I have one suggestion after you’ve booked your parking…call the hotel to find out how often the shuttle runs so that you won’t be late for your flight. The first time I used this service I discovered that the shuttle only ran to the airport once per hour and I had just missed it. Fortunately I had plenty of time to catch my flight. Now returning, the shuttle ran every 10-15 minutes. I’m sure each city/airport is different, so just research that before your departure.

If you’ve ever used One Stop Parking, please leave a comment below and share your experience. If you’d like to try One Stop Parking, I have a $25 credit to give away to the third person to email with the code [free parking].
