Hiking around El Morro National Monument

When I road trip, I try not to take the Interstates and often drive the road less traveled.  En route to Santa Fe I stopped stopped by the El Morro National Monument, which I’d driven by once before, but never stopped.  I’m so glad I took the time this go-round as I had a fantastic hike.  I only planned to spend 30-60 minutes there, but ended up spending more than two hours as I was transfixed on sights around every corner. I hiked all the way to the top of the range and even to the other side…the view, the ruins and the landscape are just awe-inspiring.  I will be doing a video on El Morro in the coming months.  In the meantime, here are a couple of pics.
