Cozy and convenient Comfort Inn NYC
Last year I was part of the Rand McNally and USA Today’s “Best of the Road” rally—I spent a month crisscrossing the nation in search of the best food in small town America. One of the sponsors of the rally was Choice Hotels, so I had an opportunity to stay in a lot of their various brands, including Comfort Inn.
From my experience, Comfort Inn’s are modest hotels that are clean, convenient and…well, comfortable. Each is pretty similar in basic design and décor, nothing fancy, but rather simple and tasteful. Recently I visited New York City for a conference and booked a room at the Comfort Inn Midtown West location…which I learned had just opened a couple weeks earlier. As soon as I entered, I wondered if I was in the right hotel. This midtown location had a hip and trendy lobby that was unlike any other Comfort Inn I’d been to before. As I made my way to my room, I was again pleasantly surprised by the modern décor. This was NYC, so I won’t kid you; the room was pretty small, but extremely efficient in its layout and design. The king sized bed had lovely linens with both firm and soft pillows. There was a small desk and chair with free wi-fi and easy access outlets so that I could work. The bathroom was also nicely equipped with a high-end Toto toilet, granite vanity and spacious shower.
The location of this midtown Comfort Inn is super convenient…located just west of Hell’s Kitchen, where you’ll find a plethora of great restaurants. There are many NYC attractions within walking distance…I made my way to Central Park one day to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Grand Central and the Empire State Building are also nearby. Just a block farther west you’ll find the Air, Sea and Space museum.
Each morning a continental breakfast awaits, including eggs, bacon and/or sausage, yogurt, fruit, hot or cold cereal, and fresh (you make) waffles.
If you’re heading to New York City and looking for a hotel on the more affordable side of Wall Street, in a convenient location to many of the famed sights, have a look at the Midtown West Comfort Inn.
