Central European road trip coming up

I am heading to Europe for five weeks of road tripping around the Czech Republic, Southern Poland and a bit of Germany. This will be my third time to the Czech Republic, and after this visit, I will have road tripped to most areas of the country. While I will spend a bit of time in Prague, this trip will be focused on the northern part, such as Bohemian Switzerland and the western side, like the spa towns of Mariánské Lázně and Karlovy Vary. While in this region I may skirt into Germany a bit, maybe to Nuremberg and/or Amberg.

I will then head to Krakow, Auschwitz and Katowice, Poland, which will be my first time in the country. After Poland I will head back to the Czech Republic where I will be attending the TBEX travel conference being held in Ostrava, an old industrial town trying to redefine themselves.

I scored a sweet deal from Auto Europe for the car rental, which will be less than $500 for this trip. Gas of course will not be cheap, but at least I will have a fuel efficient car, so hopefully it won’t be too bad.

Have you ever road tripped to any of these places? If so, please leave a comment below and share some of your favorite places/activities.
