Road Diary update from South Lake Tahoe

I just arrived into South Lake Tahoe the other day and am loving it! Not as much snow as I would have hoped for, especially given the time of year (mid-January), but it’s just as beautiful as I remember. I’ve actually never stayed in South Lake Tahoe before, but have spend a day driving through and was able to do a bit of exploring.

I spent a couple of days road tripping here and got to drive in a brand new Toyota 4Runner (Toyota loaned me the vehicle for this trip), which is a fantastic vehicle and perfect for a road trip. I’m staying at this amazing new lodge called The Edgewood. As the name implies, the resort is right on the banks of Lake Tahoe.

I went skiing up at Heavenly ski resort, which I have to say is aptly named. I only skied for half a day because I was pooped. I have never been to a ski resort that so efficiently gets skiers up to the top of the mountain. I would go up, ski down, go back up, ski down. After my tenth run I started to feel it. I really didn’t want to leave, but was worried that my legs would fail me and I might get injured, so instead I went back to the Edgewood and got a massage.
