Auspicious Things to Do in Hangzhou
Last year I had an opportunity to visit Hangzhou, the capital of the Zhejiang province known to be the happiest city in all of China. Hangzhou has become a popular tourist destination for westerners in the past decade, but has been revered by emperors and other Chinese travelers for centuries. Hangzhou will be on the world’s stage in September as the host city for the G20 Summit, so I thought I would provide a list of some of my favorite sights and activities when visiting this fascinating and beautiful city.
Hangzhou, China is a destination steeped in ancient history and most well known for its superior green tea, cultural sites like West Lake and the Grand Canal and the unique architecture of its pagodas. As one of Travelocity’s Gnational Gnomads, an exclusive group of high-profile travel and lifestyle experts who offer tips and inspiration on behalf of Travelocity, I have written this article “eight auspicious things to do in Hangzhou,” these are exciting activities not to miss in the Far East city of Hangzhou.
If you’ve ever been to Hangzhou, please leave a comment below and share your favorite aspects.
