Desert Thistle Bed and Breakfast Review
The Desert Thistle bed and breakfast located just outside Zion National park was certainty an unexpected pleasure for this seasoned traveler. The proprietors, Maureen & Warner Edgel are the most hospitable hosts you’ll ever come across. Maureen is originally from Scotland, Warner hails from Los Angles, both seemingly born to cater to the needs of others as you will certainly feel at home when staying at the Desert Thistle.
Each room is distinctly appointed with luxurious linens, flat screen TVs and fine furniture. There are five rooms to choose from, along with some common areas including a lovely living area and sun porch, where breakfast is served. Speaking of breakfast…expect much more than the continental variety. During my stay Maureen served up a delicious scrambled egg dish, with the meatiest bacon I’ve ever eaten. Fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee and OJ also accompanied the repast.
While in Zion, you’ll want to stay a minimum of two nights, it’s simply too spectacular to rush through. There is so much to do inside and just outside the park. There are many nice restaurants to chose from as well, while I was there I had a good meal at Oscar’s Cafe (Had the Mahi Tacos), the service however was just so-so.
If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, hospitable B&B and you’re in the Zion National Park area, you simple must look up the Desert Thistle Bed and Breakfast. Tell them Mike sent you. Check out the video below for a tour of the Desert Thistle B&B.
