Basking in historic hipness

Yesterday I checked into the historically hip, Hotel Valley Ho, which is located right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, AZ. This hotel has such a cool factor. Designers have done a suburb job blending elements of the past, with the contemporary style of today. Reminders of yesteryear leave a trail throughout the property, from the 50s and 60s music being played, to black and white photos of celebrities escaping Hollywood paparazzi.

Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale

When I checked in, I was trilled to learn that I was being upgraded to a suite. I’m very fortunate that I get opportunities to stay in a lot of wonderful hotels and it’s usually quite a unique experience to stay in the finer rooms. The two-story suite that I’m in must be nearly 1400sf, it’s huge! I can enjoyed the view of the famed Camelback Mountain from anyone of the four furnished balconies. The contemporary design is stunning as you can see in the photos below. I am going to have a difficult time checking out of this room, which is without question in the top-10 of the best rooms I’ve ever stayed…which is saying a lot. This room is on-par to the presidential suite that I stayed in while at the Aria Hotel in Prague recently.
